We have been located in our current building at Grösslingová 18, designed by the architect Ödön Lechner, with short breaks since 1908.
The art nouveau building was built in 1906-08 and was completely renovated in 2007-09. It has three above-ground floors in an L-shaped plan with high ceilings and light-filled spaces, which are complemented by two underground floors in the central part. The building is richly decorated inside and out, as is the fence around the school grounds. After the reconstruction, the building has its original yellow-gray (facade), respectively green-ochre-white (interior), or gray-green (fencing) color combination.
The building itself was declared a National Cultural Monument in 1963, the fence was added to it in 2012.
The neighboring Blue Church (St. Elizabeth’s Church) was built in 1909-13, also according to Ö’s design. Lechner, as the chapel of our school. We currently have no official relationship apart from good neighborly relations.
Both buildings are located in the center of Bratislava, in the so-called “Bratislava’s SoHo”, but away from the noisy main roads and near parks (Šafárikovo and Jakubovo námestie, Medická záhradá or Sad Janka Kráľ) and are easily accessible by foot, bicycle, public transport or car.
Ödön Lechner (1845-1914) was a Hungarian architect working in the art nouveau style.
Grösslingová street got its name from the Danube fish gruz, which is called Kressling in German.
The first building (Kapitulská street)
In the first years (1627-1633), we were settled in a tenement building at the beginning of Kapitulská street.
First own building (Kapitulská 26)
Together with the founding of the school, at the initiative of Cardinal Pázman, the construction of our first own building at Kapitulská street number 26 opposite the Cathedral of St. Martina. Teaching moved there in 1633 and we stayed there until 1714.
The building was built in the late Renaissance style. In 1963, it was declared a National Cultural Monument.
Despite three centuries, the building is often still known today among Old Town residents under the name Jesuit College. Probably also thanks to the well-preserved tympanum, which is decorated with the coat of arms of the Jesuits, Pázmaň’s family coat of arms and a Latin inscription:

On December 9, 1919, the ceremonial opening of the Comenius University (UK) took place in the building, and subsequently its rectorate was located there for years. Currently, after the Faculty of Law, the Roman Catholic Cyrilo-Method Faculty of Theology of the UK is located there.
Next building (Kostolná 1)
In 1714, we moved to the building after the former evangelical school at Kostolná ulica number 1. From today’s view of the building on Primanciální námestí next to the Bratislava municipality, at that time the larger part of the building stood exactly where the municipality building stands today. On the south side, the building is adjacent to the Jesuit Church of the Holy Saviour.
We operated in the building until 1786, and it currently houses the Faculty of Theology of the University of Trnava.
Second own building (Klariská 5)
From 1786, until we moved to the current building, we were based at Klariská street number 5, where we shared the building of the former Klarisi monastery (until 1851) with the Law Academy, which had moved from Trnava.
The origins of the monastery of the Order of St. Clare date back to the end of the 13th century, but the building got its current form mainly after the late Renaissance reconstruction in the middle of the 17th century. The building is located in close proximity to the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. In 1963, it was declared a National Cultural Monument.
Above the decorated corner portal, which serves as the main entrance to the Klarisiek area, there is a triangular tympanum with a Latin inscription:

A memorial plaque of our former student Béla Bartók has been placed on the facade of the building since 1956.
Currently, the monastery building is the premises of the University Library in Bratislava, which stores the oldest and most valuable prints and organizes social events here.

We have been based in this building since 1908 with breaks in 1943-45 (World War II) and 2008-2010 (reconstruction). In the 1960s, the school was divided and also operated in the buildings on Vazovova Street.
During the war (Palisády, Kozia, Dunajská)
During World War II (1943-45) we were tenants in the buildings of other schools. At first, classes were held in the afternoon in the building of the State Training Gymnasium in Palisades, after the occupation of the building by the German army, both schools moved to building II at the beginning of 1945. state gymnasium on Kozej Street, to spend May and June in the building of the I. State Girls’ Gymnasium on Dunajská Street. Some classes were probably also allocated to the building in St. George.
60s of the 20th century (Vazovova 4 and 38)
After administrative interventions by the state in the system of primary and secondary schools, part of the school was moved during the 1960s to Vazovova Street, to the building of the current primary school and also to the building of the current branch of the 1st language school on Vazovova and Blumentálska Streets (then Szaboova).
During the reconstruction (Račianska 78)
Between 2008 and 2010, after one hundred years, the building on Grösslingová Street was reconstructed, so we temporarily moved to the building on Račianská Street, number 78, where we were accommodated by our home Chemical Secondary School.
The third return to the third own building
And now from 2010 for at least another hundred years in our current building.
